Philosophy: Classic wine obtained from grapes from the Herdade do Esporão, which shows the consistency and character rich and typical of the best Alentejo wines.

Harvest Year: Inclement weather and temperature and humidity fluctuations out of season resulted in low production. The mild summer, with the very cool nights provided good quality grapes.

Viticulture: Soil Geology: Granite nature of transition to schistose, loamy-loamy structure. Age of Vineyards: 15 years.

Grapes: Aragonez, Trincadeira, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouschet.

Vinification: Separate harvesting of each variety, destemming, crushing, alcoholic fermentation with controlled temperatures in small mechanical mills (22 to 25 ºC), pressing, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

Stage: Staged for 12 months in American oak barrels 70% and French 30%. After bottling followed another 12 months of bottling.

Bottling: March 2013.

TASTING NOTES: Color: Clear, dense color and garnet. Aroma: An intense aroma of spices and red fruits, with discrete notes of wood, which add complexity. Palate: Full bodied, elegant, good density and creamy. With firm tannins that indicate a good longevity in the bottle.
