QUINTA DO CASTRO DOURO SUPERIOR

As the name suggests, Crasto Superior Tinto is made from grapes from the Upper Douro region of our property named Quinta da Cabreira, located next to Castelo Melhor and where we planted 114 hectares of vineyard in recent years.

Fresh attack, evolving in great harmony for a compact volume, composed of mature and firm tannins.

Good aromatic freshness, with notes of excellent complexity reminiscent of wild fruits of the Douro, Esteva and cacao.

The set provides a nice finish and excellent persistence.

Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Souzão, Vinha Velha.

VINIFICATION: The grapes, coming from our Quinta da Cabreira, in the Upper Douro, were transported in plastic food boxes and subjected to a rigorous sorting at the entrance of the winery. After a total destemming and a slight crushing, the wort was transferred to fermentation deposits in stainless steel with controlled temperature.

AGING In French oak barrels, where it remained about 12 months.

Color: Violet loaded

Nose: Excellent aromatic expression, where they stand out vibrant notes of wild fruits, in perfect harmony with soft notes of fresh spice.

Mouth: Captivating start, standing out the notes of wild fruits of the Douro, that evolve to a wine of compact structure, with excellent volume and velvety tannins.

It finishes in perfect balance, with a pleasant sensation of freshness and excellent persistence.
